The Centipede Committee is run by a small group of parents who provide sporting activities for the families of Sutton High School.

Our aims:

We aim to give your children the opportunity to have fun and unwind after a hard day at school with their friends, whilst keeping fit and active. We welcome everyone of all levels and abilities and believe Centipede offers another opportunity to really become involved in school life, get better acquainted with girls from other classes whilst supporting the school.

We currently offer very popular gymnastics classes and badminton sessions for both girls and parents. During the summer term we also have tennis classes and are offering some one off athletic sessions . We also arrange taster sessions in different sports e.g. kick boxing and fencing.

All the Centipede gymnastic classes take part in the annual gymnastics display and this year we also held a leotard sale.

Centipede also pays to train selected girls as assistant gymnastic coaches providing they have the right ability, aptitude and approach.

You and your children's safety is very important to us so we only engage fully qualified coaches who have been CRB checked and ensure there are risk assessments for all activities that we provide.

Centipede aims to work closely with the school, supporting the sports department and giving all girls the opportunity to participate and enjoy different sporting activities.

Some classes are also open to siblings and parents.

For gymnastics please add £15.00 per child to cover the annual BAGA insurance due for renewal on 1st October 2009 if you are new to gymnastics or did not pay last term.

How to Book a Class:

Classes run on a termly basis and should be booked in advance. Details of the terms classes are sent out to girls with the end of term notices.

All cheques must be made payable to Centipede Club S.H.S
