Safeguarding Policy 2009.pdf

Our strong tutorial system allows focus on the individual to ensure full potential is reached but ensures respect for one another. The Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education curriculum provides a variety of experiences for pupils in learning about themselves, society and the needs of others. Pupils have the opportunity to explore career options through the Careers Education and Guidance programme. They receive full support from our expert, in-house Careers Advisor, including preparation of UCAS and Oxbridge applications.

Counselling
Support in a Tick

Modern life is not without its pressures and adolescence sometimes brings with it not only joys but difficulties.  For this reason Sutton High School makes the services of a confidential counsellor available to girls.  Older girls may access her directly and younger pupils may be referred to our counsellor with the agreement of parents.

We are always looking at ways to support and help our girls.   Our School Counsellor, Linda Nissim is a very valued member of the school community and she is able to help and support both pupils and staff.

Linda is available every Tuesday from 8.15am to 2pm on the first floor of Block 45 (to the right of Speech and Drama).   Appointments may be made in the Appointment Book which is located outside the Study in the Main School building.  Privacy is ensured because all that is needed to secure an appointment is a ‘tick’ alongside the time and day the appointment is required.

Girls will have the opportunity to talk freely and confidentially during the appointment. [Confidentiality refers to what is said in the privacy of the counselling room and will not be disclosed to any other party].  Linda will be impartial and will try to help with the issues that are currently creating conflict.

Don’t forget there is no such thing as too small a problem……
