      Senior School

OPEN Evening, Thursday 20 June 2019
      BOOK NOW

Sutton High School offers girls a seamless educational pathway from Nursery to Sixth Form. Come and visit the school to see why Learning with Joy is at the heart of what we do.

We offer a range of academic and performance scholarships at 11+ and the Sixth Form.

We offer bursaries at 11+ and the Sixth Form.

Although most girls enter the Senior School at 11+, 13+ and the Sixth Form, we often have interest in other year groups too as well as girls joining us during the school year. We appreciate that people’s circumstances change and we offer flexibility for parents and hold assessments subject to the availability of places. Please get in touch with Julie White, our Admissions Officer, to arrange a personal tour or come to an Open Morning to find out more: admissions@sut.gdst.net / 020 8225 3001

We will publish the dates for entry in September 2020 as soon as they are finalised. Please see the key dates for entry in September 2019 to give an indication of the timeline.

      How to apply

      Step 1

Please come and visit us either at one of our Open Events or for a personalised tour. Either contact Julie White, our Admissions Officer, on 020 8225 3001 or email

admissions@sut.gdst.net or make an online booking for one of our open events.

      Step 2

To apply for a place in our Senior School, please complete our online application form. You will need to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £100 (or £150 for overseas applications), as detailed on the form.

      Step 3

Your daughter will be invited to attend an assessment session. There are written papers in English and Mathematics, an online reasoning test and an informal interview. If applying for Year 9 and above your daughter will also be asked to sit a Science test. On successful completion an offer will be made.

A confidential report from the girl’s previous Head will always be requested. The report for each girl requests information about her academic performance and potential, any specific learning difficulties, how best to manage any disability, and curricular and extra-curricular interests.

An acceptance deposit of £1,000 is payable when parents return the signed parent contract to the school. It is refunded (less any outstanding charges) when the pupil leaves, or is credited if a full term’s fee in lieu of notice is paid.

      11+ entry

Our 11+ examination day for entry in September 2019 has now been held. However, we will try to accommodate late applications for full fee-paying places. Please apply for a place in the normal way and we will be in touch to arrange an assessment where possible.

Admission is by examination and interview for all girls.

There are written papers in English and Mathematics and an online reasoning test. The written papers are devised by us, based on Key Stage 2 national curriculum content. The online reasoning test consists of verbal, non-verbal and mathematical questions and is provided to us by the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM) at Durham University.

We offer a range of Scholarships, as well as means-tested Bursaries. Find out more.

      International students

We welcome applications from students who are permanently resident outside the United Kingdom. Overseas candidates follow the same entry process as UK residents. An additional paper to assess their English language skills may be required.
Although we can usually arrange for overseas candidates to sit our assessment papers at their current school abroad, we strongly recommend that students visit us before accepting a place.
