Our school has a long and proud tradition in the performing arts. Generations of girls have developed their talents and flourished in music, drama and dance. It is a real privilege for all of us, to celebrate our girls’ performances at every age and watch their talent grow. As a school we provide a wealth of opportunity in the performing arts, cultivating musical and dramatic talent, enabling girls to develop self-confidence, and teamwork skills. Our existing school hall was built in the 1930s and is old fashioned space which limits scope for creativity in performance. In spite of this, our girls perform superbly and enjoy your support for their productions.
We plan therefore to refurbish the hall to enable us to have a Performing Arts space which will be worthy of our talented girls and create an inspirational space that is at the heart of school life. We hope you agree that this is an exciting project; we will need your support.
The Girls’ Day School Trust has committed almost £1 million towards the project but we still need to raise £50,000 independently in order to equip the Hall with the very best possible resources to ensure maximum benefit for our girls.
We have already raised over 50% of our target through the generous legacy of one of our alumnae. However we still have a long way to go. Our Annual Fund is to support this exciting project, and we invite every member of our school community to lend their support.
With your help, we will be able to establish a first-class Performing Arts space that will create fantastic new opportunities for all our girls both in the Junior and Senior schools.
