Sutton High School Wins Gold Medal in Biology Olympiad

Six Year 13 Biologists took part in the British Biology Olympiad (BBO), a national competition organised by the Society of Biology.  It is designed to allow gifted students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and be publicly recognised by the award of medals and other prizes including the opportunity to represent the United Kingdom at the International Biology Olympiad to be held in Korea. This is the second year Sutton High Biologists have taken part and the results have just been published.

Congratulations go to Mina Ghosh who was particularly successful, gaining a Gold Medal, after sailing through the first round of competition papers and narrowly missing out on being part of the final 12,  after completing the second round of even more challenging papers.  Also successful were Laura Philips, who was awarded a Silver Medal, and Kinnari Patel who was Highly Commended.  Unfortunately, Mina and Laura are unable to attend the BBO presentation ceremony as it is happening on the same day as A level prize giving. Well done to them all.
