Pooja and Sabina from Year 11 have both been awarded the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. This is a competitive national scholarship aimed at Year 11 students interested in pursuing a career in engineering, technical design or computing.
The girls completed a thorough application detailing their participation and achievements in the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). They also passed a demanding technical examination. This led to an invitation to interview at Greenwich University and Brunel University respectively to present a portfolio of their STEM projects.
Pooja and Sabina will be sponsored and mentored by a leading engineering company or charitable organisation. Both scholars will receive £600 towards their Sixth Form studies and STEM initiatives. They will attend an award ceremony in the autumn term at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Savoy Place.
