Mental health awareness is something that happens all year at Sutton High, but here are a small selection of things that have been happening to mark Mental Health Awareness Week:
Positive psychology is taught in PSR lessons, and students in Year 9 and above have access to the positive app to help build their emotional literary and resilience.
Year 8 and 10 have recently started the Mindfulness in Schools programme, and have really enjoyed the mindful moments they have been able to experience such as eating mindfully and the very popular 'beditation' (meditation before bedtime).
Year 7s have been creating their own inner coaches and thinking about the importance of how we talk to ourselves.
Mrs Cox has been delivering Mindful Yoga sessions to our Year 7s and Year 12s and created an wonderful display of books in the library.
Buddy (our school dog) has really enjoyed coming into lessons to meet with the students and he has provided a real calming influence on many a situation. We all wish him a speedy recovery after his recent neutering operation!
