Oxbridge and Medicine offers
We are delighted with all the university offers our current Year 13 students have received so far, including offers from Oxford and to study Medicine.
At Sutton High, we aim to help our Sixth Form girls fulfil their ambitions when they leave us, whether this is to secure a place on a university degree course, to travel during a gap year, to enter the world of work or to be successful in their application for one of the newly developed higher level apprenticeship schemes. It is all about each girl achieving her dreams.
We have been delighted with all the offers our current Year 13 students have received so far, including for competitive subjects such as History, Languages and Pharmacy and from prestigious universities including York, Exeter, Warwick and UCL to name just a few.
Some courses and institutions are, however, particularly competitive and so it is a proud moment to report on the success of our prospective Medical students and University of Oxford applicants this year (pictured above).
Following a gruelling process of admissions tests, extra lessons and demanding MMI interviews, we would like to congratulate Azalea, Masha and Misha who have received offers to read Medicine in September 2019. So far, Azalea has offers from King’s College London, St George’s and Southampton; Masha has earned an offer from Nottingham (based at the new Lincoln site) and Misha has offers from both Queen Mary’s and King’s College London.
Our Oxford applicants have enjoyed similar success. Sophie S now holds an offer from St Peter’s College to read Geography, whilst Diana has been offered a place to read Law at New College. She now faces the enviable decision of making this, or an offer from LSE, her Firm Choice.
In addition, after facing stiff competition from girls across the GDST, Diana has been awarded the prestigious Johnston Memorial Scholarship which will run for the three years of her degree and also gives her the opportunity to complete a week’s work experience with the Legal department at the GDST offices in Victoria.
We wish Year 13 all the best in their forthcoming examinations as they continue to work hard to achieve the grades required.
