This term we have offered subject champions and scholars in Art and DT the chance to explore creative ways of working beyond the normal Art and Design Curriculum.
So far girls have made a silver ring learning the process of silver smithing. They have been led by Mr Grant in this exciting activity. They have learnt how to shape and join the rings as well as polish to a professional standard.
For the next rotation girls have been working with me exploring marbling and gold leaf. They have applied the marbled inks to plates and cups and added gold leaf detail.
Next up the girls get a chance to work on developing their Digital photography skills with Mr Winter, followed by Mrs Cartwright sharing her knowledge of 'scarva' porcelain paper clay. Then it will be back in DT to explore 3D printing and enamelling. The creative pods will be wrapped by with a 2 session workshop led by Ian Malhotra on very small printing.
This is an exciting initiative and I would like to thank all the teaches involved for their hard work in running this programme
