On Wednesday 12th November, Year 4 visited RHS Wisley. During a week of showers and storms we were so lucky to enjoy a beautifully sunny autumnal day in amongst the trees and gardens. Visiting the kitchen garden was very exciting when we discovered so many ‘edi-mental’ vegetables – a cross between edibles and ornamentals! We learned about trees, rubbing their barks to create patterns and looking at the tiny seeds that they all begin life as. After collecting acorns, we checked which ones were good by dropping them into water and then planting only the ones that sank.
Finally, we spent time in beautiful glasshouse, full of tropical plants, trees and flowers.
A days of great memories and fun learning was had by all!
