On Tuesday 3rd February, Darshanaa S (Year 11) spoke at the Semi Finals for the annual GDST Crystall Carter Public Speaking Competition. Students from Croydon, our host for the day, Sydenham and Blackheath spoke for seven minutes on a topic of their choice. This was followed by three minutes of questions from the audience, a measure of the students’ aptitude, knowledge of their topic and skills in public speaking. Darshanaa won! This means she will now represent Sutton High School at the finals in Notting Hill and Ealing. We are so pleased Darshanaa won and wish her all the best. Darshanaa will speak again on her topic, “Why Feminism Remains Important Today”.
