Scholarship & Bursaries

We offer Sixth Form Academic Scholarships, as well as Performance Scholarships in Art, Drama, Music, DT, Photography and Sport to the value of up to 50% of fees. Means-tested bursaries are also available up to the value of 100% of fees. External pupils should indicate on the online application that they wish to be considered for a scholarship or bursary.

Current Sutton High pupils wishing to be considered for an Academic Scholarship or bursary will need to sit the Sixth Form Exam, but all current students are guaranteed entry to the Sixth Form.

All external candidates will sit a Sixth Form Exam, which consists of four sections; a verbal reasoning paper, online Maths test, essay paper and a quantitative paper.

Key Dates & Information: 

• The deadline for external Sixth form applications and all Scholarship and Bursary applications is Tuesday 1st October 2026.
• Those applying for a bursary must have completed all means-testing by this date, so should apply as soon as possible.
• The Sixth Form Exam takes place on the morning of Saturday 21st November 2026, for all external applicants and current pupils applying for an Academic Scholarship or a bursary.
• Scholarship Offers will be made in the week beginning 7th December 2026
• External applicants are expected to gain an average score of 6 across the top eight GCSE grades and a grade 7 or above is usually required in the subjects they wish to study at A-level.
• Personalised learning pathways are available for girls who may not meet this requirement.
• The acceptance deadline for all external applicants and internal scholarship offer holders is Friday 8th January, 2027 at which time a £3,000 deposit will be due (from external applicants only) The Induction Day for Year 12 pupils will take place on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th July 2027.
