Ama O selected as a finalist in the National Poetry Competition!

After a successful Black History Month in October where our EDI ambassadors led, assemblies and events based on the theme ‘saluting our sisters’. We are pleased to celebrate the achievement of Year 7 student Ama O who has been selected as a finalist in the national poetry competition for Black History Month.

Her powerful and moving poem advocating the strength and pride of Black women resonated with the prestigious panel of judges who are experts in literature and poetry. She will attend a special event at the House of Commons on World Poetry Day and the International Day of Ending Racial Discrimination. Winners of the competition will have their poems published.

Well done Ama. We salute your success!
