Students studying their Business GCSE and A Level courses this year have been putting their creativity and business knowledge into practice by producing promotional videos highlighting the benefits of studying Business.
As part of their courses, students worked in teams to plan, create and edit their own promotional videos. The project gave them an opportunity to develop a range of valuable skills while exploring what studying Business can offer.
Throughout the project, students learnt about the importance of effective communication and teamwork, working together to develop ideas, allocate responsibilities and produce a final product. They also explored digital marketing techniques, considering how businesses use social media and digital platforms to reach and engage their target audiences.
The students were also introduced to a range of sales techniques, learning how businesses can persuade customers by identifying their needs and communicating the benefits of a product or service effectively. They then applied these techniques to their own promotional videos, creating engaging messages aimed at encouraging other students to consider studying Business.
The project also helped students develop their presentation skills, giving them confidence in speaking to an audience and communicating their ideas clearly. Behind the camera, students developed their digital editing skills, learning how to combine video, images, text and sound to create professional and engaging content.
The completed videos demonstrate not only the students’ enthusiasm for their new subjects but also the wide range of practical skills that Business students can develop during their courses.
By combining classroom learning with a creative, hands-on project, the students have already begun to see how Business is about much more than theory. It involves communication, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, technology and understanding how to connect with an audience – skills that can be valuable in further education, employment and future careers.
The project has provided an energetic start to the students’ Business GCSE and A Level journey and has shown that from the very beginning, Business is a subject where students can learn by doing.
