How to take part in the Big Wild Walk and Hedgehog walk

As part of our commitment and development of our ‘Breathe the Wild Air’ programme we are currently working in partnership with the Surrey Wildlife Trust who recently gave an informative and inspiring assembly to all pupils in Years 1 – 6. The enthusiasm of our pupils led to many pupils recognising unusual or rarely spotted insects and through our programme our pupils continue to enhance their learning through the outdoors. With this in mind, I would like to promote the following fundraising events the ‘Big Wild Walk’ for pupils in KS2 (Years 3-6) and the ‘Hedgehog Walk’ (EYFS & KS1) for pupils and their families which will take place between 16-30 October and will help support the Surrey Wildlife Trust and continue to develop not only our school partnership with the Surrey Wildlife Trust but extend this beyond school with family and friends.

This is a great challenge for our Sutton High community to complete during the half term and promote health and wellbeing for all. The link to the site can be found here: https://www.surreywildlifetrust.org/support-us/big-wild-walk. This link provides a sign-up page, and all the information you need. Completion of the challenge will be rewarded with a badge. I do hope you will be able to complete the challenge as a family and look forward to hearing from our pupils about the challenge they set and their own fundraising efforts supporting our wildlife.

We also wanted to congratulate Jessica E in Year 4 on completing her Big Wild Walk, this is a great achievement!
