Regulatory Compliance Inspection
We are delighted to be able to share the findings of the ISI inspection of the school in September 2017. The inspection took the form of a Regulatory Compliance Inspection, to examine whether we comply with the extensive regulations and requirements covering pupil wellbeing, health and safety, recruitment, safeguarding and governance, amongst others. I am delighted to tell you that Sutton High School met all the standards required, there were no recommendations for us to do anything differently and no action is required.
Whilst they were here, the inspectors conducted formal interviews with pupils and staff, observed lessons, scrutinised samples of girls’ written work and held discussions with senior members of staff and the GDST. They also attended assemblies and visited a sample of extra-curricular activities. They visited the site and grounds to review provision for the girls’ needs, including medical provision.
Highest possible achievement
The report is not an exciting read, as it simply confirms that we have met all the requirements. As the purpose of the inspection was not to report on Educational Quality, there are no judgements or detail concerning the curriculum or the teaching and learning. Nevertheless, it is the highest possible achievement in the circumstances and affirms the quality of education and care here at Sutton High School.
I am enormously grateful to all my colleagues for the consistently high standards they set and to all the pupils for the part they played in making this such a successful inspection. I am also grateful to all the parents who completed the questionnaires that framed the judgements made by the inspectors, who were appreciative of the welcome they received and the smooth running of the programme.
