As part of the tailored EAL support our students receive, Year 8 learners enjoyed a fantastic lesson that combined language development with real-life skills. While learning vocabulary linked to health problems and parts of the body, students completed a listening activity on first aid training before putting their new language into practice. Thanks to Mrs Davis (our specialist EAL teacher), our school nurse joined the lesson to provide professional guidance on CPR, giving students the opportunity to practice lifesaving techniques on a training dummy. A brilliant example of how language learning can be engaging, practical and empowering, helping students build both their confidence and their skills.
