Little Legs, Big Determination: Nursery Girl, Emelia’s First 2k

Nursery track-star, Emelia completed her first Junior 2k park run in the Easter break. She completed the course without stopping, finishing within the 15 min mark- we were so proud to see such resilience at only 4 years old with a big smile at the end!

Finding Their Balance: Year 3’s Calm Yoga Practice

This month, Year 3 have been enjoying some calming yoga sessions, using gentle stretches and mindful breathing to help them learn about relaxation. The girls explored how slowing down their bodies can also settle their minds, giving them simple strategies they can use whenever they need a moment of calm.

Year 4s Residential Trip to Sayers Croft

This week, Year 4 were revelling in the outdoors at Sayers Croft where they explored nature at the pond and in the woods, faced new physical challenges at the boulders and ropewalk, and took their first steps towards independence, learning valuable bed-making skills. Congratulations, Year 4! You have developed your resilience, empathy and collaboration superpowers, and made many wonderful memories.

Year 5: The Trip to The Globe

On the 29/04/2026, five selected girls from Year 5 (Eliana A, Darcey F, Leah J, Estella C and Ella S) went to the globe with other GDST schools to indulge in many exciting workshops such as sword fighting, learning about duals and your different weapons, from an average wooden staff to a glamorous rapier – which was a posh dualling sword, dating back to Tudor times – while having loads of fun. As well as that, we also learned about A Winter’s Tale, reading the scripts, making freeze frames, and even watching it live on stage! It was rather inspirational for everyone to watch Paulina, a noble woman, standing up to Leontus, King of Sicilia, as it really emphasised the outlook and superpowers of our school. We all had a wonderful time, while getting to know many interesting things about William Shakespeare.

Wicked Memories for Year 6!

On Wednesday 13th of May, Year 6 set off on a trip to the West End (The Apollo Victoria Theatre) to see a heart-warming performance of Wicked.

Mrs Donald organised the trip as an end of Year 6 treat. However, we also used it as an opportunity to gather inspiration for our Year 6 production of Grimm – Once Upon A Musical.

As the curtains were drawn, we were all on the edge of our seats. The opening performance captured our attention with the bright and bold colours, loud music and cheerful voices. When Glinda floated down in her bubble and sang When No One Mourns the Wicked, we all gasped in admiration. Other highlights included Defying Gravity, Poplar and the ice-cream in the interval.

It was a really fun trip which we all enjoyed thoroughly. What a great memory for Year 6!
