On Tuesday 5th of December, all of year 8’s were lucky to have an inspirational talk by have Laura Verghote, the ambassador from the Amazon Get IT programme. She spoke to students about what the types of currently technology we have, the types of people that works in tech and also her career journey to Amazon. She also promoted the AWS Get IT programme and competition that is available for all Y8 students to take part in. The competition entails students coming up with an app idea that could benefit the local community. if their idea is short listed they will have an opportunity to present at the Amazon HQ . If you would like to take part in the club, it runs every Friday lunch time 1.40 – 2.10 in room 307 with Ms Baboolall.
