Welcome to Sutton High School. We are an independent day school for girls from 3-18, part of the GDST family since we were founded in 1884. Girls here love their school, learn with joy and want each other to succeed.

I am delighted to welcome you to Sutton High School. We combine joyful learning, outstanding academic results and excellence in pastoral care.

Our Manifesto and Strategy

We have been educating and inspiring girls for over 139 years. In that time, we have developed a strong sense of who we are and what we stand for.

We are part of a pioneering movement that started over150 years ago. Together with our sister GDST schools, we defied Victorian attitudes to women by providing a rigorous academic curriculum for local girls.

GDST

We are proud to be part of the Girls’ Day School Trust, a family of 25 schools across England and Wales.

Examination Results

Our entirely bespoke curriculum enables every individual girl to maximise her potential in public examinations. We are proud of our students and our teachers for achieving outstanding results year after year.

Why All Girls?

Staff

We have a team of specialist, expert staff who ensure that all our students maximise their potential, both inside the classroom and beyond. They know and celebrate our girls as individuals, love their work and teach with joy.

Governors

Our board of governors provides support, guidance and critical oversight to the Headmistress and the school. The governors bring valuable expertise from various professional fields and we are very grateful for their commitment and their capabilities.

Venue Hire

Sutton High School has a wide variety of facilities available for hire. Our sports complex offers a 500m2 sports hall, 25m x 8m swimming pool and a dance studio with mirrored wall, sound system and sprung flooring. We also offer 6 external tennis courts, 5 netball courts and a Multi Use Games Astroturf.

School Transport

From our own, newly enhanced, school minibus service for girls in year 3 and above, to the wide range of public transport options available, there are plenty of opportunities for a sustainable journey to school.
