
👏 We are so proud of our Head of History and GDST (The Girls’​ Day School Trust) Humanities Consultant, Mr Jake Unwin, whose latest article in the Independent Schools Magazine highlights how women have been ignored in the history classroom.
Drawing on recent research from ‘End Sexism in Schools’, Jake calls for more named women, the study of both the exceptional and the everyday, and for female voices to be heard. Rebalancing the curriculum isn’t just inclusion – it’s intellectual honesty. Only then can we ensure that “anonymous” is no longer a synonym for “woman” in our history lessons.
