On Monday 13th October 2025, Sutton High Prep School embraced the magic of the season with a joyful Autumn Day celebration. Pupils arrived dressed in warm, autumnal hues, ready to welcome the crisp charm of autumn. Throughout the day, they sipped hot chocolate, roasted marshmallows, and immersed themselves in seasonal activities. Classrooms buzzed with excitement as autumn-themed lessons unfolded – they each choreographed their own glow stick dance parties, Year 2 even baked adorable hedgehog-shaped bread! The air was filled with laughter, learning, and the cozy spirit of togetherness.
Autumn day – By Hannah & Aadya (Year 6S)
“On the 13th October, the prep school had an Autumn Day where we had so much fun!! We came into school dressed in Autumn colours and full of autumnal spirit. The day began with a cold breeze in the air, as we ventured outside for inspiration for our poetry writing. We then wrote autumnal cinquain poems, choosing to write about the changing seasons, golden crunchy leaves, crackling bonfires and cosy hot chocolate. After we completed our poems, we chose a leaf template and drew pretty patterns on the Autumn colours for display.
In Drama, Year 6 had an Autumn inspired lesson and, after an autumnal assembly where we sang a song about conkers, we had the immense privilege to toast marshmallows and have tasty, hot chocolate around a campfire. YUMMY! We finished the day by having a dance workshop inspired by fireworks, where we got to choreograph part of the dance and dance with glow sticks.
It was such a fun day!!”
