House spirit was in full voice at Sutton High today as our four Houses took to the stage for our much-anticipated House Christmas Song competition. Each House was given a Christmas classic to rework and make their own, bringing creativity, humour and plenty of festive flair to their performances.
From inventive lyrics and harmonies to imaginative costumes and choreographed dance routines, the event was a joyful celebration of collaboration, confidence and community. Pupils from across the year groups threw themselves into rehearsals, supporting one another and showcasing the very best of Sutton High energy and enthusiasm.
After a wonderfully close and good-spirited competition, Frances West were crowned winners, taking 1st place. Dora Black followed in 2nd place, missing out on the top spot by just one mark out of 150. Phyllis Mudford Kind secured 3rd place, with a highly creative and memorable rendition of Feliz Navidad from Henrietta Stanley in 4th place.
Whatever the final scores, it is clear that the real success lies in the talent, teamwork and courage shown by all who took part. A huge well done to every performer, and particular thanks to our House Captains, Prefects and Heads of House for their creativity, leadership and impressive organisational efforts in making this such a highlight of the Christmas calendar.
