This term, Sutton High’s corridors burst into colour as pupils across the Senior School took part in our reimagined House Face Art Competition. Each girl was challenged to represent her House with creative flair, using a palette inspired by her House colour — and, of course, the unmistakable Sutton High purple.

The atmosphere was electric from the very start of the day. Our newly appointed House Captains led the charge, setting up vibrant stalls in their House hubs before school, at break, and again at lunch, helping others join in the fun. For many pupils, this was their first time taking part, and the supportive spirit shown by our Captains ensured everyone felt included and confident to get involved.

What began as a friendly competition quickly became a celebration of what it truly means to be part of Sutton High: creativity, collaboration, and community. Whether glittered, painted, or stencilled, each face told a story of belonging — of pupils coming together across year groups to celebrate their shared identity and the joy of school life beyond the classroom.

The judges had a tough decision, but the real winners were the sense of pride and connection that filled the school. Events like these remind us that at Sutton High, being part of a House is about more than colour and competition — it’s about being part of a community that celebrates every girl’s individuality and spirit.”
