This month we said goodbye to the wonderful, Miss Musgrove. After 15 years of dedicated service as Head Teacher at Sutton High Prep School, Miss Musgrove is stepping down to begin her well deserved retirement.
In what was a wonderful day of celebration, the girls wrote poems and performed their songs in a beautifully orchestrated assembly. Followed by parents and teachers who also came together for a final farewell.
In true Miss Musgrove fashion, she left gifts and a hand written card for each of the girls. Moreover, she left behind a legacy that will last each of the girls a lifetime.
Miss Musgrove, now your chapter ends,
A head teacher, guide, and trusted friend.
With years of service, calm and wise,
You helped each girl to strive and rise.
In every corridor and hall,
You knew the names, the needs of all.
With steady voice and thoughtful care,
You offered time, you were always there.
Assemblies sparked with curious themes,
Ideas, reflections, hopes and dreams.
You opened minds through art and thought,
And showed the value that they brought.
You championed nature’s quiet grace,
Found stillness in our Fernwood place.
Art galleries, a favourite day—
A chance to see the world another way.
You gave of your best, you set the tone,
No girl was ever left alone.
You made shy voices feel at ease,
You offered kindness without cease.
And who could miss those moments sweet—
Hot chocolate shared, a quiet treat?
Small acts that built a stronger whole,
A thoughtful, ever-guiding role.
Now rest from work so ably done,
A chapter closed, a new begun.
For all you’ve shaped along the way,
We send our thanks as you step away.

You’ve led with heart, with wisdom, grace,
A guiding light in every place
Through every challenge, smile or tear,
You’ve offered support year and year.
You brought the outside into view,
With nature’s calm in all you do.
Because of you, we’ve come to see
That school can grow like any tree.
With vision clear and purpose strong,
Fernwood house, full of laughter and song
You let the way, the plans took flight,
A building born of earth and light
Now every wall and window shows
How far a single vision goes.
Now as you leave, we say with pride,
Your legacy won’t slip or slide.
You’ve built a school that stands so tall-
