Y12 and Y13 went to the National Archives at Kew to look at real historical sources, including a report of the trial of Charles I, a letter from his wife Queen Henrietta Maria to Pope Urban VIII and a court roll with real 17th Century gold leaf on it! Students got to handle the documents and understand how they could use them in their own historical research. They particularly enjoyed finding doodles in the margins of some documents and touching the wax seals.
