Pastoral care

At Sutton High School you will be valued for who you are and encouraged to be your best self. You will be known and celebrated as an individual, and supported every step of the way along your Sixth Form journey.

People who understand you

People who understand you

The size of our Sixth Form means that tutor groups are small, friendly and close-knit. They are also made up of both Year 12 and Year 13 students, so you can share experiences at key times and form strong bonds across year groups.

You will have regular one-to-one tutorials with your form tutor and they will be available for you every day to offer both academic and pastoral support. Your form tutor will come to understand you exceptionally well, and this insight means that Sutton High UCAS references are completely unique and personal. Our form tutors are handpicked to work at Sixth Form level, and they are experts in identifying and solving the issues faced by girls at this stage of their lives and education.

As well as your form tutor and Head of Year, we have an in-house school counsellor and medical manager on hand whenever you need them. We also enrol all girls on the ground-breaking GDST Positive Project, which uses technology designed by psychologists to help tackle mental health problems.

A collaborative and welcoming place

A collaborative and welcoming place

Our Sixth Form is a collaborative and welcoming place, where girls are proud of each other’s successes. We hold regular social events, such as Movie Nights and Murder Mystery Events, to ensure that everyone finds their place within the group. The Sixth Form Centre is a buzzing hive of activity and our Head of Years 12 and 13 is based at the heart of it, ensuring that there is always someone to ask if you have a question, or need another person to listen if things ever get too much.

We firmly believe that our girls do better because they feel better. At Sutton High School, your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing always comes first.
