Stretch, Breathe, Relax: Year 6 Unwinds After Exams

On Thursday 20th of November, Year 6 were fortunate to have Jo, a lovely yoga teacher, teach a session with us. We did calming activities to help us unwind after our exams. Firstly, we warmed up by dancing! Secondly, we did yoga positions while saying what we value about ourselves. Then we did a relaxing exercise which was called snail breathing. This helped us control our pulse. Thirdly, we did a partner activity where we held two straws between our fingers.

Afterwards, we did another exercise. For this we had to take deep breaths then slowly let out oxygen. The person who was able to do this the longest would be the winner. Finally, we lay down and listened to calming music. We enjoyed this yoga session very much and wish to have another in the future.
