Towering Triumphs in Trigonometry

Year 10 have been putting their maths skills to the test outside the classroom! After learning about angles of elevation and depression, they explored Sutton Heights to find out which building was the tallest. Using a clinometer, they measured the angles of elevation and then calculated the heights with trigonometry. Their results showed that the tower currently holds the crown, but they’re already excited for the new sixth form building to open – ready to put their maths skills to work again and see if it can beat the tower.
