Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Week is the time of the year where we aim to create a sense of belonging through informative assemblies and immersive experiences.
Earlier on in the week Year 7 students participated in an interactive session with Phosphoros Theatre, a performing arts company that focuses on amplifying refugee voices. They also took part in empowering dance classes planned and led by Year 9 and Sixth Form Students. Year 8 students attended a variety of creative workshops including baking Kanafa, a Manga masterclass and a lesson on Chinese Crafts and Calligraphy.
Our EDI ambassadors spoke eloquently in assemblies during the week advocating for equality and highlighting the importance of understanding differences.
We then celebrated the uniqueness of our community at ‘Suttonbury’ our annual EDI festival held in the heart of the school grounds. Senior students visited a range of exciting stalls led by our enthusiastic Staff, Sixth Form Volunteers and EDI Student Ambassadors. The festival included remarkable performances by our talented musicians and expressive dancers. Everyone enjoyed the events creating happy meaningful memories that reflect our values and strengths in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
