Welcome to Year 9!

Dear Year 9 Students,

Welcome to what is set to be another exciting and important stage in your school journey. I’m thrilled to continue with you as your Head of Year, alongside Ms Dixon, your Head of Wellbeing, and your dedicated team of form tutors — all part of your pastoral support network here at Sutton High. Your form tutors are here to support, encourage and guide you. Regular one-to-one tutorials will give you a space to reflect on your progress, share any concerns, and celebrate your achievements. These sessions are designed to keep your wellbeing at the centre of your school experience. Year 9 is a time for growing independence and taking on new challenges. You’ll begin to make more choices about your learning and future, and we’re here to support you through that process. From arriving on time each day, managing homework and meeting deadlines, to attending support sessions and making the most of extra-curricular opportunities — it’s all part of becoming more confident and responsible. We know this can sometimes feel demanding, but we’re here to help you manage it all — and to celebrate your successes along the way.
