A group of ambitious Year 12 students recently attended the launch of the LEAD programme at the London School of Economics (LSE), an initiative created to support young women in developing as future leaders. Run in partnership between the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) and LSE, the programme gives students the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills, build critical thinking, and work through real-world challenges alongside peers from diverse backgrounds.
At the launch event, students took part in workshops and discussions led by LSE academics and industry experts, gaining valuable perspectives on effective leadership. The LEAD programme is designed to inspire and equip the next generation of female leaders with the confidence and tools to make a meaningful difference in their communities and beyond. For those involved, the day not only broadened their outlook but also fostered connections that will continue into the future.
